Canyoning is a relatively new sport, but that doesn't make it less fun. Canyoning is the art of making your way down a mountain canyoning and jumping, sliding and abseiling past all waterfalls and other obstacles on the way. Because of all this jumping and sliding, some canyons are described as the playground of the alps. However, if done improperly, it is also one of the most dangerous activities you can undertake. This is because you are handling a combination of water and heights, which can each be deadly in itself already. Don't let this scare you away from this great sport though, as the NSAC can prepare you with everything you need to make a safe descend down a canyon.
